Rail system energy audit
Often railway operators, infrastructure managers and railway equipment manufacturers have already started their own investigations on energy efficiency. The main problems arise when looking into the actual boundaries for energy measuring, billing and responsibility allocation. Then the problems become too complex to solve easily without clear definitions and framework. System analysis is key to pointing out saving potentials and lanes of actions.
Macroplan knows the railway system in-depth from a technical and operational point of view. This means that we can tailormake the solution with customers very swiftly and go directly to the critical issues within a given system.
- System boundaries and key performance indicators within the Railenergy project for UIC (2008-10)
- Investigation of the DSBFirst train workshop within ECORailS for Trafikstyrelsen (2011)
- Study on non-traction energy consumption and related CO2 emissions from the European railway sector (for UIC 2011)
Macroplan cooperates with Emkamatik (Switzerland) on this issue to bring you the best and most precise analyses.
